*Position : Mainframe Developer - COBOL/CICS* *Location : COLUMBUS, Ohio*
*Duration : 6 months* *Hourly rate : $40/hr* Mainframe COBOL Batch and COBOL CICS development to create batch and real-time interfaces to a third party processor. Development will be done within the context of a Shared Services Mainframe Development Model, with the development of mainframe-based components as part of an Enterprise Service Oriented Architecture. The primary focus of this position will be the design and development of batch processes in support of 1) a conversion of Customer Information System data, and 2) the building of replacement processes for feeding data onto a Customer Information System. Roles & Responsibilities: *Work directly with Business Systems Analysts, Project Managers, and other technical resources on multiple concurrent tasks. *Design, test, debug, document, and implement program code. Consult with users to design, modify, and explain program changes or to provide technical support. *Adhere to structured development lifecycle methodology. *Work with Business Systems Analysts to translate requirements to technical design to include, but not limited to, data mapping activities. *Create technical design documentation. *Present designs in design review sessions. *Present code in code review sessions. *Conduct structured unit and integration testing. *Provide defect analysis and resolution support for system and user acceptance testing. *Provide support for system implementations. Skills and minimum experience: *COBOL - 5+ years *XML - 3+ years *Z/OS - 5+ years *DB2 - 5+ years *VSAM - 5+ years *Service Oriented Architecture - 3+ years *Structured Technical Design - 5+ years *MS Word - 3+ years *MS Excel - 1+ years Other minimum requirements: *Proficiency in COBOL embedded SQL / DB2 package and plan binding. *Previous experience application conversion experience involving DB2 and COBOL Batch processes. *Knowledge of application use of MQ Series a plus. *Previous experience with Changeman. *Knowledge of XML encoding based interfaces a plus. *Knowledge of Mainview a plus.
