Location: Minneapolis, MN
Duration: 6 months + *

This role will provide technical subject matter expertise and thought
leadership.
Responsibilities include:
- Partner with architectural and operational teams to drive changes to the
web application infrastructure platform (e.g. WebSphere Application Server).

- Develop strategy and drive project to uplift and consolidate
instances/servers across the web application infrastructure platform
- Identify improvements and enhancements of existing systems, tools, or
processes
- Contribute to oversight and management of performance and capacity of the
environment
- Provide subject matter expertise and troubleshooting direction and
leadership during critical incidents
Technical
-Must have strong experience working in JAVA environments, with previous
roles as WebSphere administrator and Application design / Infrastructure
architect for business critical applications and environments
-Must have extensive, in depth knowledge of AIX 5.3, 6.1 and WebSphere
Application Server 6.0, 6.1, and 7.0. Experience and in depth knowledge of
Red Hat Linux and Apache/Tomcat or JBOSS is also preferred.
-Must have experience fulfilling middleware architecture and engineering
roles, providing consultation on topologies, application integration with
the infrastructure tier, high availability, capacity planning, advanced root
cause analysis, system analysis, and requirements gathering.
-Strong performance analysis and tuning skills, with experience using
analysis tools such as jprobe, junit, wiley introscope, TPM, candle
foglight/searchlight, etc.
-Highly skilled in areas of release and configuration management techniques,
with focus on build automation and scripting for JVM deployments.
-Must have extensive knowledge and design experience with virtualized
systems (LPARs, WPARs, VMs, Containers, etc)
-Knowledge of LAN/WAN network infrastructure, including cabling, switches,
routers and hubs, and acceleration/de-duplication devices a plus
-Candidates that can speak to a variety of IT skills will be preferred
(Servers, Networking, Security, Database, Web Hosting, etc.) Non Technical
-Excellent communication skills (written and verbal; ability to communicate
across all levels)
-Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle numerous projects
simultaneously; with a great attention to detail, operates with urgency,
focus and discipline
-Excellent analytical and problem solving skills required (troubleshooting
or other problem/incident management experience preferred)
-Maintains awareness and expertise relative to evolving technologies and
techniques
-Must have the ability to work independently; strong thought leadership and
motivation
