BO, Data Services, Data Migration, PL/SQL Job Description - Business Objects Data Services Project Lead/Architect with strong Data Migration experience: - Responsible for formulating Data Migration/Conversion strategy for SAP implementation/rollout - Ability to work independently with the functional team to understand business requirements and provide technical solutions - Provide guidance on the most appropriate methods and strategy for uploading into SAP - Develop upload/conversion jobs in BO Data Services - Perform unit testing, write technical specifications/SRS documents - Review SRS documents prepared by the SAP Data Loading Programmers - Participate in Data Mapping workshops and follow-up meetings with the client business and IT teams - Work with functional SAP/ERP teams closely to understand the gaps, coordinate with business on specific business rules, work with data migration programmers on transformation rules - Schedule, communicate and conduct data mapping workshops - Liaison with business, IT and Functional teams on the project on day to day basis - Plan activity schedule and create project documentation on data migration process strategy based on the blueprint - Assist data extraction and data transformation teams with data mapping, technical mapping and transformation rules - Identify functionality gaps and map the source and target structures as per blueprint - Prepare technical specification document for script development - Monitor and assist data load team - Prepare input/output reports and assist business analyst in preparing reconciliation reports Desired Profile . 5 - 8 years of experience with Data Extraction, Transformation, and Load (ETL) processes as well as Data Migration methodologies . At least 2 years of work experience in BusinessObjects Data Integrator or Data Services platforms . Excellent knowledge of current releases of SAP BO Data Services XI DI/DS . Strong knowledge on building ETL layer, staging marts . Recent experience installing and configuring Business Objects Information Management Suite . Experience using Data Services Designer and building of datastores, transforms, queries, workflows. . Experience in areas of using interactive debugger, setting up of error handling, audit. . Strong RDBMS and SQL skills with ability to write scripts and complex SQL statements . Dimensional Data modeling, experience working on Oracle or SQL Server . Worked on various sources like, flat files, RDBMS, XML, xls, csv etc . Interest in all Data Management related areas including (Business) Process Modeling, Data Modeling and Iterative Application Development and possess a very strong hands on experience in all these areas . Direct client interaction, who can own up the solution, right from development to support .
