Go to Administration -> Patron Attribute Types Add a patron attribute type, mine looked like this: http://screencast.com/t/B0vQ8WZMI Go to your test patron, edit it to add a borrower attribute of "tabby" (or whatever) Without your patch, a search for tabby brings back the patron.
