I have now obsoleted that patch and re-activated the patch containing the QA fixes. I would propose we put the feature in as is, as it is: - purely opt-in - I do not have too much time to investigate the question of serials, and potential other complications this might bring in - the feature does what it is intended to do for our purposes — though I would be very pleased to see, and help, with any follow up patches that try to address the serials question.
