If one is generating item records when receiving serials, then in the holdings
table for that bib on detail.pl the enumcron column will show:
- the enumcron value for that item
- the serial numbering pattern (if it's different from the enumcron)
- the serial publication date
Libraries would like to have the option to simplify what shows here. I'd love
to see a syspref for something like SerialEnumcronDisplay with the options:
- Show enumcron, numbering pattern (if different), and pubdate [existing
behavior]
- Show enumcron and pubdate [ignoring serial numbering pattern if different
from enumcron]
- Show enumcron only
