While I've not really familiarized myself with what grouped items provide (is there an RFC or other documentation somewhere?), I don't think it makes much sense to have two different methods for grouping items in a bib record. Since this one has already passed QA I assume this one will get merged soon enough, and that means that the future of bug 20447 (to which many people have invested quite a bit, me included) needs to be reconsidered. I wish I had known about this development much sooner.
