Using Koha::Cache::Memory::Lite was just a suggestion/thought to explore. I didn't mean that you had to change to using it. I think it has its pros and cons. As you say, it's only cleared in a few places. This might not be the right place to use it. I haven't thought it 100% through. But I don't think I'd be alone in thinking there is too much copy/pasted code in these patches. I don't like this terminology but it "smells wrong".
