On my system, I've used jQuery to insert an icon with a title attribute so that
when the icon is moused-over it gives a bit of explanatory text. For example:
$('#navmenulist ul li a:contains("View dictionary")').append(' <i class="fa
fa-info-circle" title="No one knows what this is for"></i>');
It could be helpful to have an interface for this, something along the lines of
how we define audio alerts:
- provide a jquery selector
- select a font awesome icon
- provide text
- when a page loads containing your selector, your icon is appended to it with
your text appearing on mouseover
