What we generally agreed upon was that we want to combine for new tables and the tombstone should be the exception. Marcel, you make a great argument for it here, therefore I see no reason why this should need to be refactored. The decision, as I understood it, is mainly about preference. And we want to combine tables where we can, but not at all costs.
