I suppose the logic would be if branchcode is not unwanted, then it must be mandatory. If branchcode is unwanted, then a default library would need to be provided. With categorycode, if one isn't provided (ie categorycode is unwanted), then the default category is used. -- Looking at branchcode and categorycode, neither let you show an empty option on the UI. Probably because they're the 2 essential fields for a borrower DB entry. If they did have empty options, then I think we'd need to make them mandatory/required.
