Out of the blue, some of our clients have started asking for XOAUTH for STMP, citing this as their cause of concern: https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/blog/exchange/exchange-online-to-retire-basic-auth-for-client-submission-smtp-auth/4114750. I remember some discussion on Mattermost about the issue a few months ago. But now that I look at it, nothing conclusive came out of the exchange. We are willing to help either build or test a solution that would allow extending the way SMTP is used in Koha, in order for XOAUTH2 to be supported. We don't have direct access to an Exchange server, but I'm sure we could work something out with one of our clients. Having the functionality as a plugin, for starters, would probably make things a lot easier for everyone involved.
