The Koha manual states "If you require patrons to verify their accounts via
email they will not be able to log in to the OPAC until they acknowledge the
email sent by Koha."
This statement is accurate, but it is lacking detail about the patron account
creation. For example, the patron account creation does not happen until the
account is verified. Staff are not able to find the account from the staff
interface until verified, preventing troubleshooting if there is a typo in the
email address. The manual seems to imply the only thing the system preference
impacts is the ability to log in to the OPAC.
