Koha can generate a warning like this on About Koha > System information:
Warning The patron used for the self-checkout module at the OPAC does
not have the self_check => self_checkout_module permission.
It would be useful if this warning included the value of AutoSelfCheckID, and a
link to the actual permissions of this user.
