The group was discussing functionality/features that need improvement for the Acquisitions refresh project. The topic of having the vendor search box on the acq home page be a dropdown that lists the vendors or at least an autocomplete feature came up and everyone in attendance was in favor of adding this type of functionality. If the search box were converted to a dropdown it would allow the exposure of all the vendors, perhaps allowing the user to scroll through and find a vendor whose name they could not recall. On the invoices page the vendors search box is already functioning as a dropdown. When clicking on it the user is presented with the list of vendors. So, it seems this functionality already exists and would be great if it could be added to the acquisitions home page. However, it was pointed out previously that some libraries have hundreds of vendors and that a dropdown would not work. Allowing up to x number of vendors to be shown might work ok. Or maybe this could be a system pref that libraries could turn on/off based on their local needs. Changing this to an autocomplete feature might work well.
