I tested in a sandbox and after applying the patch the shelf browser broke on several levels - the target record I was viewing wasn't listed in the browse (Darwin in Galapagos) ; the titles in the browse were in title alpha-order clusters, but usually the list started with the "x" titles before the "a" titles, and most titles were missing ; if I select an item from the browse, the record shows on screen in the details, but that title drops from the browse. I tested with both the original "abdefg" call number and with a standard LC call number (with source set to LC).
