Bug 10035 recommends the ability to set a hard due date by patron category, but
there hasn't been any movement on that bug for a long time.
For us, a hard due date for the branch would be MUCH more useful. It would
also fit nicely on the Circulation and Fine Rules page, with the other default
rules by branch.
For example, our schools have a hard due date at the end of every school year.
Right now, I have to change each and every circulation rule for that branch to
the next year. If I could set a default for the branch, I would simply change
it for each school once per year.
