Getopt::Long::Descriptive reports errors with die, and an uncaught die exits with the value of $! if it is not 0. So an unknown option, a missing required option or a $usage->die call gives 11 for cleanup_database.pl in KTD, 2 after a failed open, etc. The old scripts exited with status 1, with pod2usage(1) or usage(1). I will attach a fix. But it will break/conflict with subsequent patches: 43557 and other.
