However, the benchmarks showed quite a big variation when I run them several times, so actually I'm not sure the difference is statistically significant. There where some bechmarks that run slower as well, so not conclusive.. Here is one example of a run: http://paste.koha-community.org/179 I agree with Frederic's reading of the documentation - it clearly says that DBI allready using the socket when connecting to 'localhost'.
