I think there is a standard used in Marc21 format for holdings : ISO 10324
http://www.loc.gov/marc/holdings/hdintro.html
http://www.itsmarc.com/crs/mergedProjects/holdings/holdings/appendix_d_ansi_niso_z39_71_and_iso_10324_data_elements.htm
There is something similar for Unimarc
http://archive.ifla.org/VI/8/projects/UNIMARC-HoldingsFormat.pdf
BUT... it is not used in France

Today, information about serial is only stored in MySQL database. [...]
One solution could be to copy serial information in Marc structure as
does, for example, Sudoc network in France (955 field is used :
http://documentation.abes.fr/sudoc/formats/loc/zones/955.htm )
What do you think about it?
Sounds good to me. I guess it will need another table in the
Koha-to-MARC mappings so we can handle it differently for each MARC
flavour. Anyone know what the defaults for other MARCs would be?
Thanks,
