Can we use start-stop-daemon from the dpkg package instead? That will be installed more widely and I'm not sure that the extra options --respawn --delay=30 are good for production defaults anyway (potentially filling up logs and core dumps). Anyone who wants respawning zebras could use inittab or monit, but should be aware of the drawbacks.
