It may be too far.
But then, serializer and id method should be hard coded, since both id
and serializer are not defaulted to good values anymore.

Marc has gone too far in willing to do best.
It is only a problem of going too far in customization possibilities,
not a problem of code quality.
But his patch was a way to solve something which is a big problem for
new installs.
