    Argh, I really try not to do this, buuuuut the first thing I thought of 
when I read this was that it might be a better idea to take things to the local 
print shop. I got full colour double sided library cards printed at an 
extremely affordable cost. Library supply companies are another option, but 
they tend to charge more than your local print shop would for lesser quality. 

    It definitely matters what short of printer you get in terms of print 
quality. Don't forget that the blanks and ink you're using will also affect 
overall quality. (Heck even ambient humidity will...) 

    Have you checked with your neighbours to see if there's a consortial 
resource available to you? I just couldn't help but latch on to your statement 
that you needed a low volume, which causes my consultant conditioning to reply 
with "Look out of house!"
