Hi,
I'm not sure that it responds to the need, but we use the syspref 
OpacHiddenItems to hide the results of one branch : homebranch: [MON]
After we use jquery in opacuserjs to hide this entry : $("#branchloop 
option[value='branch:MON']").remove();

Does the closure make items located there unavailable as well?
As in, should they not be shown in search results, etc?

This could impact some other logic if those branches need to
completely disappear...
