Kia ora, This may address more general interest in using Koha to search across other databases (in this case using the Ebsco EDS Api).
You can read a story from NIWA who worked with Ebsco and Catalyst to create and implement the EDS api, here: http://koha-community.org/koha-community-newsletter-april-2014/#ebsco Since NIWA's implementation, a few other libraries have followed, and expanded on this. The Department of Corrections in NZ sponsored a new feature so the OPAC search box can be customisable, see: http://bugs.koha-community.org/bugzilla3/show_bug.cgi?id=12296 This allowed the library to have their desired view of the search box - a two-tabbed search box. One tab to search "discovery" (Ebsco+Koha) and another for Koha Catalogue only search. Perhaps I'll do a little news item with screen shots sometime.
