Hi Natalee: I think that Shibboleth authentication has been available in Koha since version 3.18. Martin Renvoize from PTFS-Europe did the majority of the work there I believe, so I'm sure he'd know of some libraries using Shibboleth. http://wiki.koha-community.org/wiki/Shibboleth_Configuration
Regarding Athens, I don't think Koha officially supports Athens/OpenAthens authentication. Prosentient Systems has implemented it locally, but I don't think the patches are suitable for upstreaming at this time. It was implemented in a way that might not make sense for other libraries and in conjunction with other local enhancements which also don't necessarily make sense for all Koha users.
