Hi Jonathan Here's a strange thing. On Friday I paid for our subscription by credit card (in New Zealand but Australian magazine so no tax) then looked up the exchange rate for the day and entered that in NZ$. This is when I got the error — see screen shot. Today I thought I would enter it in AU$ to see what happened and it entered everything fine. I still cannot edit the two middle fields (now the exchange rate is wrong) but at least I can save the item with accounting fields filled out. I would be tempted to leave it like this except I have problems entering donated books where I would like to record the item cost but change it to 100% discount. There is obviously something I haven't understood about the procedure. I have read the manual but it is a bit basic.

Could you please make a screenshot of the form when you get the NaN and give us the rate for the currency you use?
