We don't circulate a lot of items, but we have considered adding our AV
equipment to Koha so we could track it better. I'd probably do one barcode for
each item and list the contents (laptop, power cord, VGA cable, etc.) in the
952$z field--public note. Barcoding individual items (computer, projector)
might be an option, but I wouldn't recommend it for something like a Scrabble
set. Koha is infinitely configurable,* so it shouldn't be hard to modify it to
suit your needs.

* I mean literally literally, not figuratively literally. I used to be an
editor. Trust me.

Subject: [Koha] How do you do "Library of Things"?

I'm curious as to how other libraries are cataloging and circulating
non-traditional items
like:

   - Games
   - Tools
   - Kits
   - Electronics ....etc.

We are new at this and stumbling into this area.

Are you using Koha for this or separate systems? I notice that some libraries
are using separate systems like KitKeeper for non-traditional kits, equipment
..etc. We have used both KitKeeper and Koha for this purpose and are still
experimenting. Some staff members prefer the ease of cataloging multi-piece
kits and LoT items in a separate system but that means 2 systems to track.

Thank you!
