Sorry if someone else has replied already and I missed it. I can think of two options.
First, would your Powers that Be let you remove the hard drive and replace it with a blank one on which you could install Debian? Probably not, but maybe worth asking. Second, you could install VirtualBox, then set up Debian and Koha on it. This may be more palatable to the Powers that Be.
