Eleven statesout of eleven.A clean sweep for intolerance. Yes to our country being above International law. You can attack another country and murder 100,000 of its citizens WITHOUT A SHRED OF EVIDENCE THAT THEY PRESENT A THREAT TO US. Make up some excuse later and we'll buy it, as long as you keep that intravenous oil flowing in the tanks of our SUVs. Yes to the US government seizing the wombs of America - and then the world as its property. Yes to robbing the middle class to give to the rich. And not giving the poor the time of day. Yes to teaching abstinence to US teens and AIDs-stricken Africans alike, while preaching creationism as the center of science. Yes to the smirking playground bully, his own legal assault weapon of mass destruction strapped to his leg. Yes to preaching "no child left behind" while pulling the plug on funding to make it happen. Yes to an aggressive genocidal policy on species and forests and while we're at it, the whole wide environmental world. Yes to proud stupidity. And to wearing that stupidity as an armband, enshrining it in the White House. Yes to global warming. Yes to burning the Bill of Rights and imprisoning without trial. Yes to thumbing our nose at the rest of the world and standing alone in opposition to an international women's bill of rights. Yes to putting a price on the head of terrorism and steadfastly refusing to listen to the discontent that creates it. Yes to the Final Solution to all moral problems with the installation of a fundamentalist god at the head of the government and his Chosen Chief Executive as his mouthpiece. Yes to a government of Big Business, by Big Business and for Big Business. Yes to the all-American virtues of arrogance and bigotry and deceit and greed. Yesterday the rest of the world could make a distinction between the people of the United States and its dangerous government. Today the people have spoken and shown our true-blue, red-blooded color.Proudly we stand as the land of the shackled to consumerism and the home of the legitimate terrorists. Today I weep with shame to be an American.
