We are sincerely rejoiced as over our own over all the successes gained

wholeheartedly wish the Chinese people and army greater success in their
future efforts for socialist
construction and increased defence capabilities of the country. The
DPRK-China friendship, which is based
on the revolutionary obligation and close relations between the leaders of
the old generation of the two
countries and withstood the trials of long history, has demonstrated its
might and vitality to the full and
entered a new phase of development.
The respected Supreme Commander Kim Jong Il visited China in May, which
marked an epoch-making
event in putting the friendly relations between the two countries on a new
higher stage.
It is the invariable stand of the worker's party, the army and people
of Korea to strengthen and develop
the DPRK-China friendship generation after generation.
The army and people of the DPRK will in the future, too, make every
possible effort to strengthen the
DPRK-China friendship.

official good-will visit to the DPRK
to participate in events to be held in the DPRK to mark the 50th
anniversary of the entry of the Chinese

The traditional relations of friendship between the DPRK and China have
been consolidated and
developed day by day under the care of chairman Mao Zedong, premier Zhou
Enlai, Deng Xiaoping and
President Kim Il Sung and other leaders of the old generation of the two
countries, he said, and went on:
In May General Secretary Kim Jong Il visited China and shared with
general secretary Jiang Zemin
important views on further developing the friendly and cooperative
relations between China and the DPRK
and some time ago general secretary Jiang Zemin was present on invitation
at a banquet given at the DPRK
embassy in Beijing to mark the 55th anniversary of the WPK. All this marked
great events in the bilateral
relations.
The delegation's current visit to the DPRK is aimed at implementing the
points agreed upon between the
leaders of the two countries and further consolidating and developing the
friendly and cooperative relations
between China and the DPRK.
He said the delegation would make all efforts to steadily develop the
relations together with the Korean
comrades.
Despite the complicated international situation in recent years and
years of natural disasters the WPK led
by general secretary Kim Jong Il has advanced along the road of socialism
pioneered by President Kim Il
Sung, pulling through difficulties, and gained greater fresh successes in
socialist construction, the efforts to

Palestinian people's cause supported
Pyongyang, October 23 (KCNA) -- Although the Zionists attempt to break
the Palestinian people's will
for independence through bloodshed but things will never go as they intend,
says Rodong Sinmun today in a
signed commentary.
The commentary condemns Israeli armed forces' brutal killings of
Palestinians in the Mideast as a
deliberate and premeditated move to torpedo the Mideast peace talks and
realise the ambition for territorial
expansion at any cost.
With nothing can the Zionists put down the just struggle of the
Palestinian people to retake the usurped
territories and the right to national self-determination and found an
independent state, the commentary notes,
and goes on:
Israel's atrocities only result in hardening the Palestinians' firm
will to set up an independent state.
For its justice the cause of the Palestinian people enjoys
international support and encouragement.
The Korean people extend firm solidarity and support to the Palestinian
people in their just struggle .
The just cause of the Palestinian people is sure to triumph.

"towards a new strong and prosperous era under the leadership of the
party", "cheers of the nation shaking
the whole land" and "may the Worker's Party of Korea eternally prosper".
The performers give a vivid formative and artistic depiction of the
history of party building in which the

the century and the pride and

nation under his guidance.
This display and performance is praised as the world's masterpiece as
it is distinct and profound in
content and diverse and splendid in style. Achievements made by

world people.

friendship exhibition and victory
and glory are in store for the Korean people who are working to accomplish

Fulfilling role as driving force of Korea's reunification
Pyongyang, October 23 (KCNA) -- Rodong Sinmun in a signed article calls
for fulfilling the
responsibility and role as the driving force of reunification.
The driving force of national reunification is the Korean nation, the
article says, and goes on:
The problem of Korea's reunification produced by foreign forces cannot
be solved by the strength of
foreign forces.
The reunification of our country can be achieved by the united efforts
of the Korean nation who is
interested in national reunification and has enough strength and wisdom to
realise it.
In view of the situation at home and abroad, the fundamental interest
of the Korean nation and the
requirements of the era, all the compatriots should now turn out as one
under the banner of great national
unity and national reunification to defend the life of the nation and
demonstrate its dignity and honor.
Any member of the Korean nation cannot turn aside from the
reconciliation and unity of the nation.
Following the historic Pyongyang meeting and the June 15 north-south
joint declaration, the minds of all
the compatriots are turning toward national reconciliation, unity and
reunification.
All the compatriots in the north, south and overseas should unite firm
in one mind and purpose and make
a tangible contribution to the cause of national reunification, those with
strength devoting strength, those with
knowledge dedicating knowledge, those with money donating money so as to
discharge the responsibility
and role as the driving force of national reunification.
