Press Statement The Polit Bureau of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) has issued the following statement: Attack on Police Picket At American Centre, Kolkata The Polit Bureau of the CPI(M) strongly condemns the armed attack on the police picket outside the American Centre in Kolkata this morning. Gunmen on two motorcycles fired upon the policemen and other people in the vicinity leading to the death of four policemen and injuries to 15 others.This attack is a deliberate attempt to disrupt the peaceful atmosphere in West Bengal. Due to the security arrangements made outside the American Centre there was no damage to its personnel and property.
