Hello,
I wanted to setup file transfer via a proxy with one oif my friends within the
jabber network. Both parties are sitting behind DSL routers. Due to that fact
we decided to choose proxy.jabber.org for exchange and Port 8010 as set as
default. I didn't know if I should put my JID into the JID field thus I tried
both versions (emty and my JID) but we never were able to exchange files.
Kopete just told us:
Could not connect to host [user] jabber ccc de/Kopete
Maybe this is a bug in kopete. It's also really hard to find information or a
FAQ about how to set up a jabber client for file transfers. I could not even
try to use port forwarding of my DSL router because I couln't figure out which
port Jabber uses for file transfers.
Thanks for implementing better file transfer handling. Jabber has to improve.
