MSN uses ports in the 1000-2000 range from what I can tell. But it doesn't
really matter. For future reference, here is what I need:
Run ethereal and capture all the connections in your network. Doesn't matter
how many there are. Then, look at the Ethereal output and look for packets of
type MSNMS. Either that, or use Ethereal's search feature and look for packets
containing the string "INVITE". Then, right-click on any of the packets and
select "Follow TCP Stream". Save the stream as a Hex Dump (this is really
important) and email it to me. This way, I will get the data sent by MSN only.
The tool I have written for analyzing packets uses Ethereal hex dumps for
input, so this is the perfect format for me.
