The big problem is, that my webcam oly works with Kopete, when I am using the
patched driver with v4l2 enabled.
Xawtv, on the other side, does work with both versions of the driver (original
and patched), but only, when v4l2 is disabled. And it does not behave
correctly. The resolution is below 640x480 and it's again only a part of the
whole image, taken from the middle of the whole image. Resizing the
xawtv-window to a size above 640x480 shows the whole image, but resizing it to
a size below 640x480 simply cuts some regions of the image. So, a lower
resolution does not mean, that the whole image is shown with a lower
resolution, but that only a part of the whole image, taken somewhere from the
middle, is shown. It's exactly the same behaviour shown by the formerly
attached images. I ran xawtv with -debug 2 and saved the output. I'll attach
the ouput, perhaps one can read something from it.
I will also contact the author of the driver, to report the bug with changing
the resolution.
