bullshit. it does so change in practice. As soon as a I change the kabc
association, the metacontact id changes. I would call that changing in
practice, wouldn't you?

that doesn't matter. When I said the id should never change, I meant it.
What part of "never change" doesn't make sense to you? 

Oh, wait, I get it, I'm just being stupid because i want to prevent bugs 
in the unlikely case that somebody changes the metacontact id by changing
the kabc association for that metacontact. </sarcasm>

seriously, if the id that I use for this can change, then there will
still be a bug and we have good users who will find and report it. Then
I've just wasted my time.

this is indeed completely different and it would be appreciated if the
right term could be used in the future to avoid confusion.
