this is what happened:
selected user "a" in real contact list
then selected user "b" via my plugin
w/o selecting, clicked some of the "Edit" functions:
Properties and Groups operate on user "a"
everything else operates on user "b"
this is not good :(
i will try to port the Properties dialog to MetaContact
i havent yet looked into the group stuff...
