Hi,

Kopete mysteriously stopped connecting via MSN several weeks ago.
However I am able to connect via a MS-Windows XP machine. :(
If memory serves me correctly I was running KDE 3.5.1 on
FreeBSD RELENG_6-STABLE BETA 4 when I first noticed this.

The MSN icon (butterfly) is animated for a few (2 or 3) seconds
but then nothing.

Trying to solve the problems I upgraded to where I am now (see below)

dwpc@ /home/duane>kopete --version
Qt: 3.3.6
KDE: 3.5.2
Kopete: 0.11.1

dwpc@ /home/duane>uname -a
FreeBSD dwpc.dwlabs.ca 6.1-RC FreeBSD 6.1-RC #0: Wed Apr 12 04:27:29 ADT
2006 [EMAIL PROTECTED]:/usr/obj/usr/src/sys/DWPC-KERNEL i386

An empty file is generated if I run kopete > kopete-log

As I haven't seen other messages concerning people recently
losing their MSN connectivity with Kopete I must believe
I broke it myslef. :(

Some of the things I have tried in addition to upgrading my ports skeleton,
upgrading FreeBSD, and upgrading KDE, have been:

1)reverted to FreeBSD 6.0 RELEASE GENERIC kernel

2)deleted /home/duane/.kde/share/config/kopeterc and then restarted kopete
and re-input my MSN account info

3)deleted /tmp/kde*, /tmp/ICE*

4)deleted /home/duane/DCOP*, /home/duane/ICE*

I was hoping after I reinstalled KDE via portupgrade -rRv x11/KDE3
that everything would have been fixed.

Does anyone have any ideas?

If there is anything else needed please let me know.

Sincerely,

Duane Whitty
