Summary: Sound on incoming message _only_ when chat window is'nt
                    active
           Product: kopete
           Version: 0.11.1

            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: wishlist
          Priority: NOR
         Component: general
        AssignedTo: kopete-devel kde org
        ReportedBy: andrwest abo fi

Installed from: Unlisted Binary Package
OS: Linux

It would be nice if there was a notification for incoming messages _only_ when
chat window is not active.

Personally I don't see the point of playing a sound when you recieve a message
from someone you are actively chatting with. However it would be nice to hear a
sound when you recieve a message when you are not currently actively chatting
with the person.

While there are other notifications except playing a sound on incoming messages
to show that they have arrived, I find it pretty hard to actually notice those
notifications. For instance when reading a document or concentrating on
something else, I usually do not notice the blinking of the system tray icon or
the window entry in the task bar when a message is recieved.

This could perhaps be merged into a single event with Bug 86898:
http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=86898

Conclusion: Add an event for "An incoming message has been recieved in an
inactive window"
