Summary: What to do when an account changes? / migrate history
           Product: kopete
           Version: unspecified
          Platform: unspecified
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: wishlist
          Priority: NOR
         Component: general
        AssignedTo: kopete-devel kde org
        ReportedBy: chain_shinra gmx at

Version: 0.11.3 (using KDE 3.5.3, Gentoo)
Compiler: gcc version 3.4.6 (Gentoo 3.4.6-r1, ssp-3.4.5-1.0, pie-8.7.9)
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.16-gentoo-r6

I have thought about two Szenarios. The second one is actually happening.

1) A user switches from an UIN to another.
 * So the logical next step would be to delete the old UIN.
 * But what happens with the history? Yes it won't be deleted.
 * BUT how to access it? The user exists - the history is lost on Harddisk.
 * So, you have to keep the old UIN to keep the old history.

2) (my Szenario) I had to switch from one Jabber Server to another.
 * I have ~30 Contacts on this server. I added them on the new, no prob.
 * BUT - what happens, If I delete my connection profile for the old server?
What happens with the history?

Please anyone who is involved this, answer to this, as I need my history in
private and work both.
