I guess connection status plugin is meant to automate connection when network
is available. it seems to silence some errors though, but not all, which
puzzles me about its role. I don't think silencing error messages should belong
to it.
what about going to "configure notifications"? using kopete 0.12 there's a
"connection has been lost" notification. on a more general note, I think all
error reporting setup (incl. silencing) should go there and not be auto-handled
by the connection status plugin.
