Summary: Remote Desktop control of other people's computers
within Kopete
Product: kopete
Version: unspecified
Platform: Ubuntu Packages
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: wishlist
Priority: NOR
Component: general
AssignedTo: kopete-devel kde org
ReportedBy: eljefedelito gmail com
Version: 0.12.1-0.1 (using KDE KDE 3.5.3)
Installed from: Ubuntu Packages
Compiler: kubuntu standard
OS: Linux
I would love to have Remote Desktop Connection available in Kopete, to connect
and control computers that both do not have a public IP. MSN Messenger can do
this, and it is useful.
I think that it would be invaluable to help a new KDE/linux user get some
issues resolved or to help them learn more about their system; "Look, you can
do it like this..."
It might be advisable to allow the incoming connection the option to give root
privledges or not, depending on if the user trusts the incoming connection
(their administrator). RDC would be most useful to help install applications
and do actual Root-related system maintenance, but helpful for other purposes
as well (help for any application)
