Kopete does not make use of any video device you connect to your PC after
Kopete has started. This is somewhat annoying, because you certainly do not
want to log off from your IM service, shut down Kopete, plug in your device,
restart Kopete, log in again and so on. You most probably simply want to plug
in your device, go to the configuration page, check your settings and then
start your video session.
Kopete also does not recognize if you disonnect a device at runtime. It is
still available in the configuration window.
Perhaps one could add the possibility of a manual rescan of video devices, for
example a "refresh device list"-button in the video configuration window. This
would perhaps be better than a rescan triggered every time you open the
configuration window, because there could be people who always have plugged in
their webcam, so they do not need this rescan functionality.
