I also vote for old-ICQ-like event queue. All these authorization events (auth
request, added to contact list etc.) should be treated as special kinds of
messages. Popups which are currently used for auth requests are too invasive,
and notifications which are currently used for other events (like authorization
granted, authorization refused, someone added you to contact list) quickly
disappear, so I can't even notice them when I've gone for a minute to get some
coffee.
