We're willing to compromise on the configuration file, that's a huuuuge deal. We might even be able to work around having to have the .adiumMessageStyle extension, so you guys don't need to have that on *NIX, where it doesn't mean anything. David is the guy who's managing this area of Adium, I think he may have some thoughts on this.
