Now that group Y! chats seem to work with 0.12.4 this is the one basic feature
of gaim I find lacking on a daily basis with kopete. Most of the folks I work
with use IM to communicate and I'm not about to add hundreds of people to my
contact list just so I can do one-off chats. gaim also manages to have this
feature. I really prefer kopete to gaim because of the UI, but this feature is
something I really need.
It would also be very useful if there was a binary similar to 'kmailservice'
that I could make Firefox use for 'ymsgr:SendIM?<yahoo ID>' so that I could
click on ymsgr links in Firefox and pop up a chat window in kopete. (Or even
do the same in Konqueror for that matter.)
