I don't know why but I haven't received the answer from Martijn. I just can 
see [parts of] his answer in Oliviers mail, but it seems that everything is 
answered already...

I already tried this one though it was very late and I had difficulties to 
keep my eyes open... Even if the key is generated in a separate thread the 
popup is not drawn how it should be. But I will do more testing about this.

Initially I thought this issue would be eliminated when disabling RichText 
(also posted this "solution" on KDE-Apps.org a while ago). A friend of mine 
told me that this would help, but doing more testing I noticed that disabling 
Richtext on my machine doesn't change anything. The newlines are still here.
This must be something more tricky...
