For the record: It was a problem on the local system.
There seems to have been a hick-up in the FreeBSD ports recently where a lot of
people ended up with two conflicting versions of OpenSSL installed. As kdebase
and kdelibs picked up random combinations of incompatible libraries, SSL
stopped working and that lead to the MSN login failures.
