I noticed this when moving to work with a windows machine there. I don't know
how long it's been going.
Apparently, I log on to my account on kopete and remain online. But On the
other side, i'm viewed as online for about 5 minutes, then i'm offline for 1 or
2 hours.. then i'm online again for 5 mintues, then offline again, even though
i never logged off.
They send messages to me when i'm online and i recieve them. When i'm viewed as
offline to them, i can't receive their messages and they can't receive mine.
On my side, it never disconnects me or reconnects me or anything.. It just
looks as if i'm always online to me. I wouldn't have known about this unless i
asked and found out.
I don't even know if it's a bug here, or my modem/isp/connection.
I have app-crypt/qca-tls-1.0-r3 and dev-libs/openssl-0.9.8d
I have in my settings,
Use SSL
allow plain text pwd auth
override default server
talk.google.com:5223
Kopete - priority 5
I'm willing to test/debug anything that is needed. I work long hours so it
might be a few hours late every day to report any information.
