To summarise, it appears essentially that there are two feature requests here:
Firstly, the replacement of the 'connect at start-up' option with 'initial
default status at startup' (containing global_user-level, im_account-level, and
possibly even contact-level, options).
The second request is that there be options, but also a quick button, for
switching on/off audio notifications, and switching on/off graphical
notifications.
Further, the muting of sounds could be set to include or exclude audio
notifications of when a user is disconnected.
I agree with comment #5, the 'connect at start-up' setting should really be
amended. This is a seriously annoying feature omission for me, and my friends
who try to use kopete - echoing what others have stated here.
Has anyone tried to patch these? I am up for working on this, but not alone as
I do not (yet) have the experience, being new to this.
